The FWC offers 19 hunts on eight wildlife management areas to certified mobility-impaired hunters. These hunts are reserved exclusively for hunters who can't walk, or can't walk without an assisting aid. Having a Disabled Resident Hunting and Fishing License does not make you eligible for mobility-impaired hunts. Mobility-impaired is defined as: Paraplegic Hemiplegic Quadriplegic Permanently dependent upon a wheelchair for ambulation Permanently required to use assisting aids to walk Permanently required to use braces or prostheses on both legs Complete single-leg amputation
Applications for mobility-impaired hunts are mailed each year directly to hunters who have been issued a Mobility-impaired Certification Card. Applications are available in early June. Permits are issued by random selection from applications received by the FWC June 19 - July 6. |
