Florida is the “Fishing Capital of the World,” because of its great resources and responsible management. The diversity of sport fishes, habitats, great weather, year-round fishing and superb tourism and fishing industry-related infrastructure are unsurpassed. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and our partners encourage you to enjoy a relaxing day in the great outdoors with your family and friends. However, for Florida to retain the status of "Fishing Capital of the World," we will all have to work together to conserve and enhance these resources. Angling Ethics provide common sense guidelines and proven techniques that every angler can and should follow to minimize adverse impacts on the fish, habitat and other anglers. If we all follow these simple guidelines, Floridians and our visitors will be able to enjoy safe and sustainable fishing for generations to come.
