US Coast Guard
The Coast Guard has important recreational
boating safety information and

that are required under specific circumstances to take people out on
navigable waters for hire (e.g., fishing guides and charters).
US Census Bureau
The census bureau has a wide variety of useful statistics including the National Survey of Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Recreation 1991, and 1996 editions. This is the information source used for estimating how much time and money Americans spend fishing, hunting and otherwise using the outdoors for recreation.
US Corps of Engineers
The Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for much of the structural modifications that affect water levels and routing throughout Florida.
US Environmental Protection Agency
The EPA is involved in ensuring healthy water and air quality throughout the US.

US Fish and Wildlife Service--Sportfish Restoration
The Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Program is vital to funding fisheries programs in Florida. Anglers should be aware of how this program operates and how to support it.
Florida is in Region 4. USFWS--Southeast Region
This is the regional Fish and Wildlife Service office that works with Florida.
US Forest Service
Provides links to Forests in Region 8 of the USFS that include the three
forests in Florida with fishing.
USFWS Reference Service
Provides a powerful search engine for inquiring about Fish and Wildlife Service reports and findings.
US Geological Survey
Has many interesting resources including water atlases and information on aquifers. Links also provide information on water contamination, and they have a special Florida Water Resources page.
US National Biological Services
An excellent web resource for information on Federal biological research programs, it also has a nice photo gallery and kids page.
WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICTS: Water Management Districts (WMDs) play a vital role in fisheries by regulating the quantity of water and timing of discharges. In addition, much of the vegetation control in the state is managed by the Districts and several very important reservoirs and water conservation areas were created and are maintained by district activities.
