TENOROC CHANGES DAYS OF OPERATION
The days of operation at the Tenoroc Fish Management Area will soon change. Currently, the area is open Thursday through Sunday of each week. Beginning October 8, 1998, Tenoroc will open Friday through Monday. (See link to map below)
"We made this change in an effort to better accommodate fishermen on three or four day long weekends," said Ray Watson, fisheries biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Watson indicated this would be a permanent change in days of operation. However, the hours of operation would remain unchanged. "Tenoroc will continue to be open from 6:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.," Watson said.
Tenoroc is one of the hottest fishing spots around. Fishermen regularly report catches of trophy size largemouth bass and good catches of bream.
For additional information about Tenoroc or to make reservations to fish the area, call (941) 499-2422 Friday through Monday of each week.
