APRIL 25 SET FOR "LADIES BAIT YOUR OWN HOOK" CLINIC
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering a "How to Fish" seminar for women at the Joe Budd Fish Management Area near Quincy on April 25. (Directions)
"This program is geared toward ladies who want to learn how to fish, or who want to teach their kids to fish," said Wildlife Officer Curt Perry, a 20-year veteran Gadsden County wildlife officer who will be helping to put on the clinic. "All they need to do is call and sign up, and have a valid Florida fishing license."
Perry said the clinic will run from 1 - 4 p.m. (EST) and up to 100 ladies can participate. He said there will be a period of instruction by both FWC personnel and lady anglers from the Bass ’n Gals fishing organization, followed by a casting clinic and an opportunity to fish for largemouth bass, hybrids, bluegill, shellcracker and catfish in Joe Budd’s 15-acre lake.
Perry said ladies can bring their own rods, reels and bait or use FWC equipment. He said there is no minimum age and no entry fee.
He said anyone wanting to sign up for the clinic can do so by calling (850) 487-1644.
