Habitat Management and Techniques

HCSS provides wildlife related technical assistance to restore and conserve habitat. Active management is an important part of habitat restoration and conservation. Proper active habitat management will provide the necessary habitat requirements (food, water, space, shelter) needed by wildlife species on your property. The following documents have been prepared by HCSS staff and can be used as general guidance in selecting the type of habitat management techniques you need depending on your current habitat conditions, your habitat goals, wildlife species requirements, and your available resources (time, money, etc.). Diversity in habitat equals diversity for wildlife.
