Hunter safety course offered in Leon County

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering a hunter safety course in Leon County in May.

The course will be taught in the second floor conference room of the Farris Bryant Building, 620 S. Meridian St. in Tallahassee from 6 to 9 p.m. May 15, 17, 22 and 24. The mandatory field day for this class will be May 26.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Students are encouraged to bring a pencil and paper with them to take notes.

The hunter safety course is required for anyone born on or after June 1, 1975 to purchase a hunting license. The FWC course satisfies hunter safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.

Persons interested in attending this course can register online and obtain information about future hunter safety classes online or by calling FWC's regional office in Panama City at (850) 265-3676.
