This afternoon, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) law enforcement officers recovered the body of a 72-year-old missing boater on the south shore of the Caloosahatchee River.

Family members reported Doyle Ware, of LaBelle, missing yesterday.  The FWC, assisted by the Lee County Sheriff's Office dive team and marine and air unit and the Hendry County Sheriff's Office, recovered Ware's capsized fishing boat and helped locate Ware's body.  FWC investigators believe Ware was snook fishing in the spillway, just east of the Lee County line.  Ware's body was recovered 200 yards from the fishing location.  He was not wearing his life jacket.  An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
