Two roads closed in Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area September 19, 2008 Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area in Hernando County is still open to visitors, but one road and portions of another have been closed to all public traffic. Closures are the result of a prescribed fire mop-up effort and residual smoke. Scrub Island Road (Swamp Grade) and the west end of Rattlesnake Camp Road from the intersection of Three Bridge Road are off limits to travel as of Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. These roads will remain closed until the area is deemed safe for travel. |
