FWC requests public input on 640-acre-game-farm rule

April 27, 2009
Contact: Capt. Linda Harrison, 850-488-6253

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is asking the public to provide input on the requirement that game farms be no larger than 640 acres.  This requirement, established in the 1920s, currently applies to owners of game farms, where game birds and game mammals are typically raised for possession, propagation, food production or restocking.

To take the online survey, go to MyFWC.com/Contact/Contact_TellUs.htm.  Additional information on the game farms rule can be found at MyFWC.com/Contact/Contact_Rules_Proposed.htm.

The deadline for completing the survey is at the close of business on May 20. For specific questions, please contact Capt. Linda Harrison at 850-488-6253.
