Hickory Mound WMA is a 14,427-acre wildlife management area (WMA) located in Taylor County, approximately 20 miles west of Perry, FL. This area includes a brackish impoundment that is accessible to duck hunters by foot (wading) or small boat (electric motors only). Depending on the status of wigeon grass in the impoundment, hunters may encounter a variety of ducks at Hickory Mound, ranging from teal to diving ducks. Hunting is administered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) through the Big Bend Field office.
