Our workshops are designed primarily for women; however, it is an excellent opportunity for anyone 18 years of age or older to learn the outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing, and a variety of outdoor pursuits.

These workshops focus on the learning of outdoor skills. We strive to offer a variety of topics in our workshops, balanced between hunting/shooting, fishing and non-consumptive (canoeing, camping, etc.) activities.

This workshop is for you if . . .

  • you have never tried these activities, but have hoped for an opportunity to learn.
  • you are a beginner who hopes to improve your skills.
  • you know how to do some of these activities, but would like to try your hand at some new ones.
  • you enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals.

Woman paddling canoeA workshop consists of four, three and a half-hour sessions. The workshops are  held at the Pine Jog's Everglade's Youth Camp in a Palm Beach County wildlife management area and at the Ocala Conservation Center in the Ocala National Forest in order to keep costs to a minimum. The Tallahassee workshop will be held at the Boy Scouts of America Camp Wallwood. These are rustic camp facilities. Lodging is dormitory style. Meals are served at designated times cafeteria-style.

Woman shooting handgunThe registration fee for these workshops is $175; however, the fee will ultimately  be determined by the availability of facilities and the number of volunteer instructors. The registration fee typically includes instruction in the topics you choose, program materials, use of demonstration equipment, lodging and all meals starting with lunch on Friday through lunch on Sunday. Workshops and topics are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
