Established status: Species are present but not confirmed to be breeding. Population persists only with repeated introductions and/or escapes of individuals.

Statewide trend: Unknown status

Threats to natives:  Will breed with Wood ducks but cannot hybridize (Stevenson and Anderson 1994).

Species Account: Native to China and Japan and feral in Great Britain and northern Europe. Most tourist attractions in Florida have this species, and it is sold commercially in the waterfowl pet trade, but there is apparently no feral population (Florida BBA).
