Florida's Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy updates and integrates 30-years of existing conservation plans into a single state wildlife action plan. This kind of comprehensive effort has never been done before in Florida. The Strategy, developed by many partners represented Florida's universities, businesses, agriculture, forestry and farming industries, private landowners and the public. The Strategy provides a platform for taking actions to proactively conserve all of Florida's wildlife and the places they live. The Strategy addresses conservation issues, management needs and priorities, and is a stimulus to engage conservation partners to think about their individual and coordinated roles. Florida's State Wildlife Grants Program supports the Strategy's implementation by providing funds.
