The Community Relations (CR) Office informs residents and visitors about fish and wildlife resources and encourages responsible behavior and safety while enjoying outdoor recreational activities, with the goal of raising awareness of conservation issues. CR coordinates agency connections with the public through mass media by issuing news releases, conducting press conferences, providing interviews, writing articles and communicating with both the mainstream and outdoor press. The FWC's social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr, deliver news and resources instantly to the public and media.

This office keeps abreast of important conservation issues facing Florida and informs FWC employees, who then can communicate effectively about relevant issues. Florida Wildlife magazine and the FWC website, under the auspices of CR, also deliver information.
