The Office of Public Access and Wildlife Viewing Services creates opportunities for the public to enjoy Florida's fish and wildlife management areas. Staff plan and design improvements such as fishing docks, observation structures, entrance kiosks, trails and parking areas. Visitors also explore and learn about fish and wildlife using maps, guides and other interpretive materials developed by this office. Making memorable wildlife-viewing experiences is a major focus for this office.

Programs like the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail and Wings Over Florida engage residents and visitors in watching wildlife and in becoming stewards of our state's wild heritage.  These and similar programs have helped make Florida the No. 1 destination in the United States for wildlife-viewing tourism. This sector of our economy accounts for 53,000 jobs and has an economic impact of more than $3 billion annually.
