KFC_knots.gifAt this station kids are taught some basic knots used by beginning fisherman. They will be given the opportunity to tie a knot themselves using a large hook and rope. Possible topics are as follows:

  • Safety first, those hooks are sharp!
  • Your equipment is only as good as your knot!
  • How do you tie a clinch knot?
  • How do you tie a uni-knot?

The traditional hunter safety course covers the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to be a safe hunter - with 12 hours of instruction, a test and 3 hours on a shooting range.
