Bass Plate for?
A. The Florida Bass Plate is a specialty
license plate for your car, truck, trailer, or recreational vehicle, which
provides a way to contribute
to conservation of fish and wildlife in Florida, without raising taxes or
user fees. $25 per plate goes to the Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission for fish and wildlife conservation, involving
projects such as habitat enhancement, wildlife law enforcement, stocking
programs, environmental education and access enhancement. Q. Is it available now?
A. Yes, the Florida Bass Plate should be
available through your local tax
collector's office now! Q. How much does it cost
per year?
A. The plate costs just $27 per year more
than a regular issue Florida license plate when you renew your tag. $25 of
that helps the resource, while $2 covers the DHSMV's administrative costs. Q. What is my normal
registration cost?
A. The base cost for registering a
personal vehicle in Florida depends on vehicle or trailer weight (contact
your tax
collector's office for details). Q. What does the initial
plate cost if I have a valid plate now?
A. You may turn in your valid license
plate for Q. Can I personalize my
tag?
A. Yes, with up to 5 characters. You must
check with your county license plate agency to reserve a unique set of
characters. The extra fee is $12.00. Please note spaces count as
characters, and due to having the bass on the left, you do not need to
worry about the characters covering the image. Q. Where can I get
specific cost info?
Q. What else do I need?
A. Be sure to have proof of insurance (a
copy of your insurance card, policy or binder) and a copy of your current
vehicle registration (or renewal notice). If your county requires an
emissions inspection, include a "pass" certificate. Q. Where do I go with the
necessary documents and fees to get my bass specialty plate?
A. Your local tax
collector will process the request. You can find their address and
