Become a certified Volunteer Hunter Safety Instructor in your
community.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission's (FWC's) hunter safety course is taught by hundreds of
dedicated volunteer instructors who periodically hold classes in
their community. The course is targeted at young people ages 12 to
16 and teaches them the knowledge, skills, and attitude to be a
safe, responsible hunter. Not only does hunter safety training
decrease hunting accidents and fatalities, it also increases
compliance with hunting laws, improves ethics and enhances the
image of hunters. The hunter safety program is so popular that 93
percent of non-hunters and 89 percent of active hunters support
hunter safety training as a requirement for accessing the privilege
to hunt.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Commission has training opportunities for
volunteers who desire to teach our traditional hunter safety
courses and bowhunter education courses. For knowledgeable hunters
who want to volunteer with the program by teaching small groups of
students hands-on activities at the shooting range, we can train
you to assist in our Skill's Day training.

How to sign up
To become a hunter safety instructor, you must be a
certified graduate, work well with people and capable of speaking
to large groups. The reward is public service to your community and
a role in continuing the heritage of hunting by developing safe,
responsible and knowledgeable hunters.

FWC Hunter Safety Volunteer Background Check Authorization Form
and mail to the appropriate regional office.
