Ocklawaha Prairie Small Game Hunting Area

As directed by Chapter 373, Florida Statutes (FS), the District seeks to preserve natural resources, fish and wildlife, and whenever practical, to open lands to the general public for recreational use. Areas open to hunting include Orange Creek. Emeralda Marsh, and Ocklawaha Prairie Small Game Hunting Areas.

A management area permit is required to hunt all public small game hunting areas. Worksheets are available below.

FWC Facts:
Armadillos are not native to Florida, but are now common over most of the state. They like forested or semi-open habitats with loose-textured soil that allows them to dig easily.
