The Southwest Florida Water Management District is currently
evaluating District-managed lands to determine if there are
additional public hunting opportunities available. This is a
multi-step process with numerous opportunities for public comment.
Any final recommended changes will be discussed at public meetings
and ultimately presented to the District's 13-member Governing
Board for consideration. Public comment will be accepted at
all of these meetings. The District is currently
evaluating eight District-managed properties for additional public
hunting opportunities. This evaluation is being done in
cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation

The next
hunting working group meeting is scheduled for July 29 at 3:30
p.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Trinkle Center, 1206 N.
Park Road, Plant City. All interested parties are welcome to
participate in this meeting.
