Hunting opportunities being evaluated on SWFWMD-owned lands

The Southwest Florida Water Management District is currently evaluating District-managed lands to determine if there are additional public hunting opportunities available.  This is a multi-step process with numerous opportunities for public comment. Any final recommended changes will be discussed at public meetings and ultimately presented to the District's 13-member Governing Board for consideration.  Public comment will be accepted at all of these meetings.   The District is currently evaluating eight District-managed properties for additional public hunting opportunities.   This evaluation is being done in cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).   For more information on this effort: http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/recreation/hunt_evaluation.php

The next hunting working group meeting is scheduled for July 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Trinkle Center, 1206 N. Park Road, Plant City. All interested parties are welcome to participate in this meeting.
