An STA1W Waterfowl Permit is a type of limited entry permit that is required in order to participate in Sunday waterfowl hunts on Stormwater Treatment Area (STA) 1W. Click the Application Worksheet link at the bottom of the page for specific hunt dates.
- Cost: $0.00
- Issuance Method: These permits are issued by random drawing. Remaining permits will be offered on a first come first served basis during Phase II. Permit holders who do not check in at the check station during the required intervals on the hunt date (see Requirements section below) will forfeit their permit and the permits will be issued at the check station at 5 a.m. for the morning hunt and 1 p.m. for the afternoon hunt.
- Requirements: You must have a valid management area permit (or license that includes a management area permit), unless exempt, in order to apply. Permitted hunters and guests for the morning hunts must check in at the check station between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. and check out at the check station by noon. Permitted hunters and guests for the afternoon hunts must check in at the check station between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and check out at the check station by one hour after sunset.
- Exemptions: You must have a permit, or be the guest of a permitted hunter, to participate in these hunts.
- Restrictions: You may submit one application and receive up to one permit.
- Groups: Group applications are not available for this permit.
- Transferability: These permits are NOT transferable.
- Guest Permits: Guest permits are NOT available for this permit, however, each STA1W permit allows the permit holder and up to two additional hunting/non-hunting guests, the total group shall not exceed three persons.
- Drawing Results: Drawing results are typically posted within about two weeks after the end of the application period.
- Replacements: You can replace lost or destroyed permits online (choose "Limited Entry/Quota Permits and Applications"), at a license agent, or tax collector office for about $2.
- How to Apply: You can apply online (choose "Limited Entry/Quota Permits and Applications") or complete the application worksheet (click Application Worksheet button at bottom of page) and present it to any license agent or tax collector office.
- How to Get Your Permit: If successful in the Phase I random drawing, you will need to pick up your permit online (choose "Limited Entry/Quota Permits and Applications") or at a license agent or tax collector office. In any phase, if you choose to get your permit online, be sure you have access to a printer so that you can print your permit directly from the website. If you get your permit at a license agent or tax collector office, the clerk will provide you with your permit.
