FWC to stock Lake Trafford with 150,000 bass

Biologists with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will stock 150,000 Florida largemouth bass fingerlings in Lake Trafford, the largest lake south of Lake Okeechobee. The 1,500-acre freshwater lake is an important resource for boating, fishing and wildlife-viewing.  

FWC hosts Florida Boating Advisory Council meeting

The Florida Boating Advisory Council held its semi-annual meeting in Tallahassee April 9. The 18-member council is made up of representatives from various boating interests and advises the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Department of Community Affairs on boating-related issues.  

Warm weather means active alligators and crocodiles

The onset of warm weather in the spring is when Florida's native crocodilians start getting active, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is urging Floridians and visitors to be cautious when having fun in and around water.
