The recreational harvest of gag grouper in Gulf of Mexico federal waters off Florida will be prohibited beginning Jan. 1.  

South Florida spotted seatrout season opens Jan. 1

Spotted seatrout harvest has been closed since Nov. 1 in this part of the state to help maintain an abundant fishery.

FWC Facts:
Biologists estimate 10,000-14,000 sturgeon live in the Suwannee River. Adult populations in other Gulf Coast rivers range from a few hundred to about 2,000.
