Representative Charles Van Zant will sponsor a
concealed-carry firearms safety class at the Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) hunter safety facility in
the Ocala National Forest.
The class is Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. until 1
p.m. at the FWC's Ocala Youth Conservation Camp. The facility is
located at 7325 NE 170th Ave., Silver Springs, off County Road 314,
approximately seven miles north of State Road 40 in Marion
County.
"I am pleased to sponsor this important firearms
safety class - I consider it a service to our District 21
residents," said Van Zant, who plans to attend the class
himself.
Firearms safety instructor Jimmy Peagler will teach
the course, which qualifies participants to apply for a
concealed-firearms permit. The class is free, and the firearms and
ammunition will be provided. However, there is a $12 charge for the
National Rifle Association Student Manual.
People interested in taking this course should
register by calling Mary Jo Marjenhoff in Van Zant's office at
386-312-2272.
