The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and
Sarasota County have installed new waterway markers throughout
Sarasota County. These markers were required under the Sarasota
County manatee protection rule (68C-22.026 FAC), which was adopted
on June 4, 2010.
The new zones are mostly extensions of already existing
regulatory zones along the Intracoastal Waterway within Sarasota
County. Other areas include New Pass, City Island Lagoon, Lido Key,
Venice Inlet and Forked Creek.
