A workshop to help landowners and hunters identify native wildlife plants will be held in Milton Oct. 18 at the IFAS University of Florida Extension Office. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshop is being conducted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), IFAS and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
“We will be looking at how to recognize common native wildlife food plants, their nutritional importance to certain wildlife species and what land managers can do to manage for these plants,” said Jeremy Martin, FWC wildlife biologist.
The course and lunch are provided at no cost to participants. However, all who wish to attend must register in advance by calling the FWC at 850-767-3634 or emailing Billie.Clayton@MyFWC.com.
