Newnans, Lochloosa aquatic plant management meeting

Aquatic plant management issues on Newnans and Lochloosa lakes are the topic of a Feb. 7 meeting planned by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

The meeting is at the Waccasassa Forestry Center, 5353 NE 39th Ave. in Gainesville. Newnans Lake will be discussed from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., and Lochloosa Lake will be discussed from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.

Interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend to express their views and provide comments on aquatic plant management issues for Newnans and/or Lochloosa.

“The information received at this meeting will be used to help develop the aquatic plant management plan for the next fiscal year,” said Ryan Hamm, FWC regional biologist. “Please feel free to pass along this information to any other individuals who may be interested.”

This meeting space is handicapped-accessible.
