The boat ramp on Lake Sampson in Bradford County off Southwest 75th Avenue is closed May 28 through June 20, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials.

“We are working with Bradford County and a private contractor on a sediment removal/habitat enhancement project in Lake Sampson,” said Steven Hooley of the FWC’s Freshwater Fisheries Field Office in Gainesville.

“We needed to close the boat ramp to give the contractors an unobstructed ramp and parking lot to complete their work,” Hooley said. “During that time period, no public access will be allowed at that ramp.”

The ramp should reopen for public access June 21. Questions about the project can be directed to Allen Martin at the FWC Regional Office at 386-758-0525.
