Proposed management activities at Orange Lake during the upcoming year will be presented by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at a public meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. The meeting will be held at the Grand Lake RV and Golf Resort, which is off Highway 318 just east of I-75 next to the Ocala Jai-Alai in Citra.

Orange Lake, the largest lake in north central Florida, covers more than 12,000 acres. It is about 20 miles southeast of Gainesville.

The FWC also will provide an update on the final draft Habitat Management Plan for Orange Lake. For more information about the meeting, contact Ryan Hamm at 352-620-7341.

The public is encouraged to share information about the meeting with anyone who may be interested in attending. The meeting location is handicap-accessible.
