FWC hosts public meeting on the management of the Harris Chain of Lakes

The public is invited by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to learn about and provide input on various management programs for fish and wildlife on the Harris Chain of Lakes during a meeting on June 28. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at Lake-Sumter State College, 9501 US-441, Leesburg, FL 34788. The meeting location is handicap-accessible.

The meeting will begin with an open house forum, followed by an opportunity for public comment. The public will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas one-on-one with biologists during the open house period of the meeting.

FWC Facts:
Numerous marine species, like blue crabs, redfish, white shrimp, stingrays, tarpon, are found more than 100 miles upstream in the freshwater portions of the St. Johns River.
