Anglers, hunters and other outdoor recreation enthusiasts with impairments will have greater access to the outdoors, thanks to a group of partners who have pledged to donate Action Trackchairs to the FWC. The Trackchairs, which are off-road wheelchairs that allow users to navigate unpaved surfaces such as hiking trails, shooting ranges, lakes and beaches, will be made available through the FWC’s Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network.

The FWC received reports about the dead birds over Thanksgiving weekend. Many of the birds were too decomposed to determine cause of death, so officials are unsure what happened to the animals.

People submitting sightings can include photos on the reporting Web page, which contains photos to help identify the target reptile species, and FWC scientists will identify submitted photos of unknown reptile and amphibian species. For the next year, researchers will also be conducting a pilot project in the Keys, testing effective survey methods and collecting distributional information and genetic samples.
