Harris Hill receives Youth Hunting Program’s Landowner of the Year award

April 16, 2015 

The FWC has presented Harris Hill of St. Cloud with the Landowner of the Year award for its Youth Hunting Program of Florida. This program strives to provide quality hunting experiences for 12- to 17-year-olds to increase the number of youths involved in the tradition of hunting. 

FWC moves forward with comprehensive draft bear management rules

April 15, 2015 

FWC Commissioners have approved several proposed bear-related rules that will be presented for final action in June. The draft rules address a wide variety of tools to manage bear populations and help reduce human-bear conflicts.

Free hunter safety course offered in Santa Rosa County

March 24, 2015 

The course will be at Avalon Middle School, 5445 King Arthur’s Way, Milton. Instruction is from 6 to 10 p.m. March 30, April 1, 6 and 8. The range portion of the class is April 18 from 7 to 10 a.m.

A 10-year plan for the T.M. Goodwin Waterfowl Management Area will be presented Tuesday, March 31. People are invited to the 7 p.m. public hearing at the Brevard County Commission Chambers, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, in Viera.
