Birdlife is abundant year round, but seasonal specialties include songbirds during spring and fall migrations, nesting ospreys and wading birds in the spring, and wintering waterfowl November to March. Hiking and horseback riding are most pleasant fall through spring. Butterfly populations reach their peak in late summer and fall.
