The Director of FWRI surpervises the major scientific sections, the Research Operations section, and the Outreach Coordination Office.

Office of the Director
The Office of the Director is responsible for all programs and operations of the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, including the entire budget and all FTE and OPS staff. FWRI is headquartered in downtown St. Petersburg on the Bayboro campus of the University of South Florida. Field stations are located throughout the state. The Director of FWRI surpervises the major scientific sections, the Research Operations section, and the Outreach Coordination Office.

Research Operations
The Research Operations (RO) section consists of small work groups that support the scientific activities of the FWRI. Facilities management staff oversee maintenance of all FWRI facilities and equipment, and computer and network employees manage computer operations. The budget office, administered by RO, carries out financial operations and coordinates grants, which support much of the FWRI's research activities.
