Current Activity
As an analyst in the Microscopy Laboratory, I monitor water samples collected throughout the state of Florida for the presence of harmful algal bloom species. I also identify other phytoplankton species present in the water samples for community analysis.


FWC Facts:
Saxitoxin, the compound that produces paralytic shellfish poisoning, was used in suicide pills for U.S. U-2 spy plane pilots in the Cold War in case of crash and potential capture.
