The Stock Assessment program collects and analyzes data concerning the recreational and commercial fisheries harvests. These data provide the only source of information for management regulations.



Finfish Stock Assessments

Stock Assessment reports provide updated life histories, biology and fishery information for a particular species, as well as commercial landings, recreational catch, and additional statistical information.

Brown hoplo, a nonnative, armored catfish, is found throughout central and south Florida. They can survive in low-oxygen backwaters and ditches, where they gulp air at the surface.
