Feral Swine



Pseudorabies

Pseudorabies is a contagious infectious disease of swine caused by pseudorabies virus (PRV), a herpesvirus. Feral hogs are the main reservoir of PRV in the United States.

Swine Brucellosis

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is encouraging hunters to take precautions when dressing and handling harvested wild hogs.



FWC Facts:
The Gulf sturgeon spawns 140 miles upstream from the mouth of the Suwannee River, one of the last pristine rivers with no dams to bar its path.
