Fees

Daily-Use Permit is required to enter this area, unless you have purchased a Wildlife Management Area Permit. To hunt or fish you must also possess the appropriate license and permit.

Facilities

Three boat ramps and 5 picnic shelters are located along Webb Lake; 3 other picnic shelters, a campground and shooting range are also located on recreation area; stables, clubhouse, barn, and restroom facilities on field trial area. Public Access - Main Unit

The area is open to public access year round from 1 1/2 hours before sunrise until 1 1/2 hours after sunset, except access to the campground is allowed anytime camping is allowed.  All persons shall enter and exit the area at a designated entrance.

Vehicle use regulations
  • During non-hunting periods, vehicles may be operated for access to the shooting range and within the recreational area on named and numbered roads only.
  • During hunting periods, vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads, except during the general gun and small game seasons, or when training bird dogs in the recreation area during the bird dog training season.
  • Vehicular access for scouting shall be allowed one week prior to the archery season on named and numbered roads.
  • Parked vehicles may not obstruct a road, gate, or firelane.
  • No motor vehicle shall be operated on any part of any wildlife management area that has been designated as closed to vehicular traffic.
  • The use of airboats, all-terrain vehicles or unlicensed and unregistered motorcycles is prohibited.

Rules Regarding Dogs

  • For purposes other than hunting, dogs are allowed, but must be kept under physical restraint at all times. Dogs are prohibited in areas posted as "Closed to Public Access" by FWC administrative action. No person shall allow any dog to pursue or molest any wildlife during any period in which the taking of wildlife by the use of dogs is prohibited.
  • Hunting with dogs during the archery and general gun seasons is prohibited. Bird dogs may be trained in the recreation area September 15 through February 10. Harvesting quail with a gun is prohibited while training dogs. Guns are not legal method of take during this season.
  • During the small game season, bird dogs may be trained in zones A, B, C D, E, F, G and H on those days when daily quail permits are not issued and the day that the season quota for daily quail permits is attained.
  • Dogs are prohibited in areas posted as "Closed to Public Access" by FWC administrative action.
  • No person shall allow any dog to pursue or molest any wildlife during any period in which the taking of wildlife by the use of dogs is prohibited.
  • Dogs on leashes may be used for trailing wounded game.

Public Access - Yucca Pens Unit

The area is open to public access year round from 1 1/2 hours before sunrise until 1 1/2 hours after sunset.  All persons shall enter and exit the area at a designated entrance.  When motorized vehicles are not allowed, public access other than by foot, bicycle or horse is prohibited.

  • No motor vehicle shall be operated on any part of any wildlife management area that has been designated as closed to vehicular traffic.
  • The use of airboats, all-terrain vehicles or unlicensed and unregistered motorcycles is prohibited.
  • Horses are prohibited during hunting periods.
  • During non-hunting periods, horses may be ridden only on named or numbered roads, or designated trails.

Hunting deer or wild hog with dogs is prohibitied.  Hunting with dogs is prohibited, except bird dogs, retrievers or dogs with a shoulder height of 15 inches or less are allowed during small game season. Dogs are prohibited in areas posted as "Closed to Public Access" by FWC administrative action. No person shall allow any dog to pursue or molest any wildlife during any period in which the taking of wildlife by the use of dogs is prohibited. Dogs on leashes may be used for trailing wounded game.
