On Babcock/Webb fall and winter are the time to hunt for deer, feral hog, and quail. A quail hunt is held on the Field Trail area each year in January.  Quail hunters should carefully review related subjects in the Hunting Regulations.  Hiking, biking, and horseback riding are likely to be most pleasant in late fall, winter and early spring.  In the winter a variety of warblers as well as American woodcocks and common snipes are found on the area.

In the spring the rare beautiful pawpaw and other wildflowers bloom in the pine flatwoods. During the summer rainy season, a majority of the area is likely to be flooded.

Hunters must comply with all hunting regulations
