Resources about Alligators for the Media

AlligatorAlligator management staff are under the FWC Division of Hunting and Game Management and are located in 3 offices. Overall coordination, alligator farming and private lands programs are administered from Ocala; public hunting is administered in Tallahassee; the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program is administered in Okeechobee.  Alligator research staff under the FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute are located in Gainesville and Eustis.

FWC Facts:
Horseshoe crabs do not bite or sting. Despite the ferocious look of the tail, it is not used as a weapon, but to right themselves if they are flipped over by a wave.
