Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Bear Management Program proudly announces and congratulates the following winners of the Bear-Proof Your Feeder Competition:

Grand Prize:

The following criteria were used to evaluate each entry:

  • How bear proof is it? (MOST important category)
  • Ease of construction
  • Ease of use (i.e. how easy is it to refill and use the deer/wildlife feeder)
  • Cost to build (excluding deer/wildlife feeder itself)

Prizes

Grand Prize: $100 cash, participant's company's recognition (logo) for winning entry on the FWC website (or an extra prize), and choice of two additional prizes listed below in BLUE.

2nd Place: Choice of two prizes listed below

3rd Place: Choice of one prize listed below

Lottery Prize: Choice of one prize listed below.  Entries were entered into the lottery simply for submitting a photo/sketch into the competition.

Prizes: Florida Wildlife Bear License plate gift certificate, Black Bear T-Shirt, Florida Wildlife Magazine subscription, Woods N Water Magazine subscription

Like a message in a bottle, “Please Release” on an external tag tells anglers that researchers are tracking a fish implanted with an acoustic tag.
