The Florida Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) is a program developed exclusively for hunter safety course graduates by the National Rifle Association. Competitors learn leadership, ethics and safety while given an outlet to expand their knowledge about the outdoors, shooting and hunting. One of the program’s goals is to ensure our hunting and shooting heritage is passed down to the next generation.YHEC Bow Florida’s YHEC is a multi-disciplined event that enables its participants to strive to be better sportsmen while teaching safety and responsibility in addition to testing marksmanship skills and hunting knowledge.

The program teaches the participants about safety, shooting and the outdoors through eight disciplines or challenges: Archery, Muzzleloader, Shotgun, Small-bore/Light Rifle, Hunter Responsibility Exam, Firearms Safety Trail, Orienteering Skills and Wildlife Identification Challenge.
